Banff Mountain Biking Tours
Banff National Park is home to a wide range of bike paths, from casual concrete paths to some of the most challenging and exciting mountain rides you can experience. Rent your own bike and explore some of the 190 km of bike trails to make the most of the natural sights surrounding you, as you pass gorgeous natural formations and plants in the Rocky Mountains. While Banff National Park encourages the use of mountain bikes for the appreciation and enjoyment of the park's spectacular landscape, if you're seeking more freeriding or downhilling, please consider areas such as Canmore, Golden, Fernie, or Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, where these activities are both appropriate and encouraged.

Take your bike out on the Goat Creek Trail, a lovely 18km (one way) bike trail from Canmore to Banff. The trail winds its way over dirt and gravel paths through the valley beneath legendary Rundle Mountain. Start at the Canmore trailhead for an easier ride, as the path descends 1,000ft back to Banff, ending at the Banff Springs Hotel parking lot. You and your bike will be shuttled to the Goat Creek trailhead in Canmore for a self-guided ride. Tour includes rental bike (for the full day), van shuttle, map, tips, and taxi.

Experience one of Canada's national treasures as you ride the spectacular Icefields Parkway through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Stretching 230 km (142 mi) between Lake Louise and Jasper, the Parkway offers access to one of the most stunning mountain landscapes on Earth on a road where no big trucks are allowed. From Banff, you'll ride 60 km (37 mi) west along Scenic Highway 1A (light traffic, lots of wildlife) to the Icefields Parkway junction near Lake Louise. From here, head north to Jasper and take in the stunning scenic views along the way (numerous falls, glaciers, mountains, and the Columbia Icefields). We recommend allowing 3 or 4 days for the tour to explore along the way.
