Lake Louise is located in Alberta, Canada, in the heart of spectacular Banff National Park. Nestled in a protected wilderness surrounded by majestic snowcapped mountains, Lake Louise has been referred to as Canada’s “Diamond in the Wilderness”. Situated on the southern slopes of the Slate Mountains, the Lake Louise ski resort is approximately 10,000 feet above sea level, offering pristine alpine skiing and snowboarding on over 4,200 acres of ski slopes. Winter sports facilities include 139 ski runs, nine ski lifts, and several back bowls preferred by snowboarding enthusiasts. The distinct gondola system, open year round, offers panoramic views of expansive glaciers, clear natural springs and breathtaking waterfalls. Four lodges and several restaurants offer respite and relaxation between ski runs. The unique model of the Lake Louise ski resort was designed to accommodate all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Beginner, intermediate and expert ski runs are accessible from each lift, allowing skiers with varied abilities to ski together. The Lake Louise ski season begins in early November and ends in May. During the summer months, Banff National Park is popular for wilderness hikes, water sports and sightseeing adventures.
Lake Louise ski packages can provide substantial discounts on lift tickets, lodging, dining, adventure tours and shopping. The early purchase of Lake Louise season passes provides an approximate discount of 30 percent of regular prices. “Early Bird” prices for the upcoming 2011/12 season range from $639 for adults; $1,499 for families; $459 for youths; $499 for seniors and students; and $3,299 for corporations. Locker rentals and VIP parking passes are also available. In order to be eligible for discounted season passes, they must be purchased prior to mid-June.
Several hotels and resorts offer ski packages, including the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Lake Louise Inn, the Post Hotel and Skoki Lodge. Reduced rates are available for extended stays. Several Lake Louise ski packages include ski equipment rental discounts and reduced lesson rates. The Burton Learn to Ride Center offers discounts on lessons and equipment rentals. Evolve SSX Ski and Snowboard Club Programs offer member discounts for lessons and equipment rentals for those who register during the early summer months.
